A court in Nairobi has issued an arrest warrant against Amason Kingi who is the Governor for Kilifi County. According to the court, the governor failed to appear before the bench countless times in a case which four men reportedly attempted to extort 30 million shillings from him leaving the case hanging.
George Ngugi, Abdul Aziz Alim, Moses Musee Maluki and Noah Akala Aduwo are accused of trying to obtain Ksh.30 million from the county boss.
The four are said to have posed as detectives from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) investigating alleged misappropriation of funds. The Mombasa traders, however, denied the charges.
The offence is alleged to have taken place at the Gracia Hotel in Kilimani in June 2018. The court now wants Amason Kingi and other witnesses arrested and presented before the court on Thursday for further direction and investigation.Follow us in social media:
