COVID-19 HITS THE BOSSES

COVID-19 current positive cases show that the disease is not based on demographic differences, physical appearance, social status rather its affecting everyone despite the age. This time around it has not spared the bosses to an extent some are losing their lives as a result of the disease.

The Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentist Union acting secretary-general, Dr Chibanzi Mwachonda who tested positive for COVID-19 is one among those in higher social status who have tested positive. The medic who was tested before travelling to Mombasa to celebrate Eid al-Adha urged Kenyans to adhere to the rules of wearing makes and maintaining social distance as instructed by the Ministry of Health. He is currently in a stable condition & under self-isolation, contact tracing and testing of all close contacts is ongoing.

The late Bondo police commander Anthony Wafula

In Siaya County, the body of the late commander at Bondo police station Mr. Anthony Wafula tested positive for COVID-19 and this led to compulsory testing of all officers at the station on Thursday. The body was immediately released for burial at his Lukuyani home in Kakamega amidst drama after his wife dismissed the positive results. The Siaya police commander Mr. Francis Kooli said all officers at the Bondo station were being tested for their safety and that of their families& friends in order to comply with the government directives on combating COVID-19.

To some Kenyans COVID-19 seems to be a myth and a joke but the increase in new positive cases and the rise in the mortality rate as a result of this disease is a clear indication that we all have to abide to the given measures given by the Ministry of Health to prevent more cases.
