A form one student at Saint Charles Lwanga in Teso South ,Busia County has committed suicide after her attempt to perform an abortion failed.Apparently,her mother is said to have caught her trying to abort and scolded her but few minutes later, out of shame she took ant-hills pesticide and died on the spot.
The 13 year old girl took away her life because she was scared and ashamed to face the society. Her body was moved to Alupe Sub-county hospital by police officers from Adungos police station. She is not the first student in the area to commit suicide due to love related issues. Last year a standard seven girl at Otimong primary school, committed suicide by hanging herself inside their house after she was questioned with her parents who found her standing with a boy on the road.
