Former Harambee Stars Striker Kevin Oliech Opiyo has passed away on Sunday after a long illness. Born in December 1986 he died at the age of 33.According to his brother Nixon Oliech who is the family spokesman, his brother passed away while admitted in hospital in the European nation.
He was a younger brother to Legendary Harambee Stars International Dennis Oliech & Andrew Oyombe ,widely considered as some of Kenya’s greatest ever footballing talents. Kevin has been battling cancer for the last four years leading to his death. He featured for several teams in the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) including Mathare United, Nairobi City Stars, Ulinzi Stars, Ushuru FC and Tusker FC.
His death comes two years after the passing away of his mother, Mary Auma Oliech known to many as Mama Oliech to gastric cancer. Kenyans who watched him play as well as members of the football fraternity are mourning with the Oliech family.Follow us in social media:
