Parents will be updated on exact dates students are going to open schools today when President Uhuru Kenyatta will be addressing the nation on the new normal on the covid-19. The President, Governors and Stakeholders will attend National Coronavirus Disease Conference where they will be addressing the nation from.

Education cabinet secretary George Magoha, last week assured Kenyans that they have discussed with other stakeholders, and have come to a conclusion on school reopening, which will be made known by the president today.

Primary and secondary school teachers are expected to report back to school from today to clean and prepare schools before students reporting.

This year’s candidates are the ones expected to report to school first then one or two weeks later other learners would be recalled.

The students are expected to report back to school for second term learning which will end in December, then resume for second term in January till March with examinations done on April next year.

Parents are advised to take the reopening of schools with good heart because it will save them money seeing that they will not have to pay school fees for the whole year but will only pay for second and third term.

While COVID-19 continues to spread it is important that communities take action to prevent further transmission, reduce the impacts of the outbreak and support control measures.
