Proff George Magoha

Education CS George Magoha has issued a sound warning to schools merely a fortnight since the reopening phase began. He was speaking during a visit to Muruguru Girls Secondary School in Nyeri County where he inspected the class arrangement.
His warning is directed to primary and secondary school heads emphasizing that resumption of learning had only been approved for Grade four, Class eight, and form four students. According to the CS, some private and international schools have permitted onsite learning for students other than the allowed classes hence going against the government directives.
“The government has not opened schools for other children whether in public, private, and international schools. If found bringing in more children than we had said in the beginning, we are going to react. This is the last warning for whoever feels that he or she is bold enough to open schools without authority. I want a full report on my desk otherwise do not blame the government for whatever actions we take, “Magoha spoke.
The Education Ministry has also maintained that learning for the stipulated classes will continue despite an increase in cases. Education PS Belio Kipsang’ has ruled out any possibility of closure of schools in the immediate future. According to them, despite the rise in positive COVID-19 cases, those set to be in school will remain as they look for a way forward for the rest.
