24 people including teenage students were killed and dozens wounded after a suicide bombing in an education center in Afghanistan’s capital Kabul, during the weekend.
According to the Ministry of Interior Spokesman, Tariq Arian, security had identified a bomber who detonated explosives in the street outside the Kawsar-e Danish center. Reports from their health ministry state most of the victims were students aged between 15 and 26, also those left with injuries due to the attack are around 57.
On Twitter, a Taliban spokesman has denied responsibility for the attack and it coincidentally comes at a sensitive time when teams the government and the insurgent are meeting in Qatar to seek a peace deal.
Family members have gathered at a nearby hospital as they search for missing loved ones among numerous bags that have been laid out on the hospital floor, containing remains of those killed.
Apparently, the Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing in a Telegram statement even though they have not provided evidence.
